Once again spring is just around the corner and I know you are wondering what to do on the first weekend of May.  Now you are going to pleasantly surprised!  Spring Fling is just the thing.  Get yourselves all pumped for CCBR’s premier event of May 2011.  We will be riding to the Angels Camp RV and Camping Resort.  Situated on highway 49, Angels Camp has some of the best riding to and from that we can find.  You will be near famous Calaveras wineries, exciting caverns, one with a zip-line, championship golf courses, and great fishing at one of the largest lakes in the entire state (New Melones).  What more could you want?  Maybe hot showers and a kitchen gazebo? Sure thing!

Some things of interest while we enjoy the weekend are:

•·   Angels Camp City Museum

•·   Robinson’s Ferry

•·   Some recommended eating spots are Crusco’s Ristorante, La Hacienda Restaurant, and Rodz Grill.

Angels Camp is a family-friendly destination, with a new museum, local caverns, and water sports to keep the kids active.  Be sure to visit Moaning Caverns, where you can see California’s largest vertical chamber viewable by the public.  Travel Guides note that it’s large enough to hold the entire Statue of Liberty inside!  Kids and adults love the chance to explore (with guides), and the 165 foot rappel is the most popular Angels Camp activity.  Action-loving teens and young adults thrill with the chance to use the above-ground twin zip lines offered at Moaning Caverns.

How do you beat a weekend with all this and spending time with fellow Beemerphiles?  You can’t. So register now and don’t miss out.  Last year everyone had a great time.

For the measly sum of $25 you get Friday and Saturday night camping with cowboy style dinner consisting of BBQ chicken, salad, bread, and desert. Then on Sunday morning, a continental breakfast courtesy of CCBR.

Of course, between meals, CCBR will have the bottomless coffee urn going so everyone can be well caffeinated.  There are BBQ pits and fire rings so bring marshmallows and anything else you want to consume around the fire, rum, brandy, beer, wine, etc.

I would like to see a big turn out so that we can justify future Spring Flings.  Our attendance has been dropping and we need to be able to show the club that it is worth keeping the Fling an annual event. So remember that we can all invite a guest to join us.  The guest does not need to ride a BMW. Just bring a guest and show them the CCBR way of having a great time!  Maybe we can garner a few more members when they see how much fun we have!

To get there, go...  Oh heck, just map it, or GPS it.  http://www.angelscamprv.com/
