What: This is a favorite ride for CCBR members traveling through the verdant green (hopefully) coastal hills of the Salinas and Carmel Valleys bordered by the vast open fields of wildflowers (hopefully) or vegetables (depending on where you look). The ride will take us from Hollister on Highway 25 to King City Road (G13), King City to Highway 101 to Greenfield to pickup G16 to Arroyo Seco and into Carmel Valley Road. Lunch in Carmel Valley Village. The route is approximately 115 miles in length to the lunch stop. Return on your own schedule—lots of great routes back home.
When: 10:00 am, Sunday March 31th, 2024
Start: Starbucks 111 San Felipe Rd, Hollister, CA 95023 ?
Pit Stop: Chevron Gas Station, 1 Broadway Cir, King City, CA 93930

Ride Coordinator: Scott Wynter (925) 998-8566
Yes, this is Easter Sunday and there is a slight chance that the museum will be closed, but the Baja Cantina is definitely open.

Get up-close to camels, ostriches, zebras, emus, and more as professional and amateur jockeys gallop, swerve, and falter their way to the finish line. This is more than a wacky spectator sport. The crowds compete against each other to win prizes from Virginia City merchants. The family-favorite event takes place at the Virginia City Fairgrounds and Arena and features food trucks serving up carnival-style treats, craft and artist vendors, a wide variety of beverages at the bar, official Camel Races merch, and camel rides for that must-have photo-op. There are four shows over three days, each full of quirky races, entertainment, surprises, and fan contests. Who knows? You may even find yourself in the arena!
Attention: Please make your reservations early, spots are filling up fast. I‘ll be staying at the Silverland Inn & Suites (and have a room to share, hit me up. Scott W). We will have a group riding from the Bay Area, details later.
