“February Meeting – The Way Things Used To Be”
We are going to step back in time in our visit to Downtown Pleasanton for the February Meeting.
Downtown Pleasanton has the small town layout of fifty years ago. We are meeting at Dean’s Café located at 620 Main Street, Pleasanton, California. If you like good food served in larger portions with an emphasis on omelets – they have probably a hundred variations in addition to an extensive luncheon menu. You can check out the menu at this link - http://www.allmenus.com/ca/livermore-pleasanton/53175-deans-cafe/menu/.
In case you forgot, this meeting is close to Valentine’s Day - so bring your sweetheart and be prepared to win a gift certificate for a bed & breakfast get-away in Mendocino courtesy of CCBR.
After the meeting, there will be a ride through Sunol and Niles Canyon to Niles – the one time movie capitol of the world. We will be visiting the Niles Silent Film Museum - www.nilesfilmmuseum.org/ - which is located at 37417 Niles Boulevard, Fremont, CA 94536. Phone: (510) 494-1411. They have very good coverage of the silent movie industry that was active in the area in the early 20th century. Their website indicates that they will be showing some Laurel & Hardy films beginning at 4 pm.
